What exactly are commons? How do they work? How can we protect them? Join scholars, activists, scientists and writers from around the state to examine the crises of California’s commons, recover their history and imagine their possible futures.“

„Verschiedene Netzwerke, wie z. B. das der RLS (P/ÖG-Privatisierung öffentlicher Güter ) oder das Anti-Bertelsmann-Netzwerk, oder die GEW (Privatisierungsreporte 1, 2 und 3) haben div. Beispiele veröffentlicht. Es gibt aber viel mehr. Darum bitten wir Euch um kurze Angaben zu den folgenden Punkten (es genügt einstweilen, kurz zu antworten, ausführlichere Einzelheiten und Materialien können später erfragt werden). Welche Privatisierungen in Eurem Land/in Eurer Kommune gibt es über

International Labour Office ueber Privatisierung

Das „International Labour Office – Bureau for Workers‘ Activities“, ein Projekt der Internaitonal Labour Organization (ILO), führt im Rahmen seiner Beschäftigung mit „Globalization and Workers‘ Rights“ sehr klar und gut lesbar ins Thema Privatisierung ein (allerdings in englischer Sprache).
Klar und lehrreich auch der Überblick über Sonderwirtschafts- und Freihandelszonen. Umfangreich das Dossier zu „Privatization and the Globalization of Energy Markets“.

Privatisation of basic utilities like water can devastate poor communities. Without access to affordable and clean drinking water, diseases like cholera can spread and infect hundreds of thousands of people.

Afrikanisches Wassernetzwerk gegruendet

Auf dem Weltsozialforum in Nairobi hat sich im Februar 2007 ein afrikanisches Wasser-Netzwerk (African Water Network) gegründet. Rund 250 Aktivisten verschiedener Organisationen kamen zur Vorstellung der Ziele. »Heute feiern wir die Geburt eines neuen Netzwerkes, um Widerstand gegen den Diebstahl unseres Wassers zu leisten, morgen werden wir den freien Zugang zum Wasser für alle feiern«, so Virginia Setshedi von der »South African Coalition against Water Privatisation«.

KPOe Projekt fuer mehr Klassenbewusstsein der Prekaeren

„Wir leben prekär und wissen es oft gar nicht“ – schreibt die KPÖ, und leitet damit ihren „Prekären Stammtisch“ als überaus gut gekleidetes Internet-Projekt http://ich-lebe-prekaer.at ein. Aber es gibt auch einen physischen Stammtisch. Denn „Ziel dieser Internetseite ist es den Begriff „prekär“ für Betroffene greifbar zu machenund damit politisch zu definieren. Der „Umweg“ über persönliche Geschichten erscheint uns zielführend, weil so die gesellschaftliche Breite der Betroffenheit anschaulich aufgezeigt werden kann.
Ein Schwerpunkt unserer Arbeit liegt aber darauf, Menschen aus der Isolation zu holen. Dem Eindruck, dass es unsere jeweils eigene Schuld sei oder die Nachbarin nicht betroffen wäre gegenzusteuern. Wir wollen mobilisieren, gemeinsam ein Netzwerk und die Möglichkeit sich untereinander auszutauschen schaffen.“
