Venezuela vs. ExxonMobil
Mit dem weltweit größten Ölkonzern ExxonMobil liegt Venezuela aber weiter im Clinch. Der Konzern fordert 12 Milliarden US-Dollar Entschädigung, Venezuela weist die Forderung als völlig überzogen zurück und bietet 1,2 Milliarden an, was dem wirklichen Wert entspreche. Exxon hat eine einstweilige Verfügung erreichen können, wodurch 12 Milliarden US-Dollar in den USA und Europa eingefroren werden konnten, die PDVSA hat mit einem (teilweisen) Lieferstopp reagiert und hat vor einem britischen Gericht Einspruch erhoben. By the way: Port workers in Greece again were on strike against privatisation plan

This strike follows a January 15th protest, where police used tear gas to disperse dock workers at the two ports. During that protest, port employees in Thessaloniki slipped inside a building where representatives of the Maritime Trade and Transport Ministry were discussing the privatisation plans. Workers at both ports claim privatisation will eventually lead to job cuts. Read more
