Allmählich sickern Daten aus dem aus politischen Gründen (Wahlen) lange überfälligen “Reichtums- und Armutsbericht” durch, der “im Lauf des Frühlings” veröffentlicht werden soll. Demnach ist der Anteil derjenigen, die als einkommensarm gelten und über weniger als 60 Prozent des durchschnittlichen Einkommens verfügen (870 Euro netto im Monat), zwischen 2000 und 2006 von 11,8 auf 18,3 Prozent gestiegen. Das sind 14,9 Mio. Menschen. Besonders stark betroffen seien Familien, wo die Armutsquote bei 26 Prozent liege, heißt es weiter. Bei den Senioren liege dieser Wert dagegen nur bei zwölf Prozent. In Großstädten wie Berlin ist mittlerweile jedes dritte Kind von “Hartz IV” abhängig. Die sogenannte „strenge Armut“ (580 Euro monatlich) hat sich ebenfalls verschärft. Sie trifft 6,7 Prozent der Menschen; vor acht Jahren waren es noch 3,8 Prozent. Die Armutsquote der 16- bis 24-Jährigen war mit 28,3 Prozent mehr als doppelt so hoch wie bei den über 50-Jährigen. Zudem stieg die Armutsrisikoquote für Kinder und Jugendliche in sechs Jahren um zehn Prozent. Die Armutsrisikoquote bei Arbeitnehmern hat sich seit 2000 auf zwölf Prozent im Jahr 2006 verdoppelt. Das Problem der „working poor“ nimmt drastisch zu. Dauerrisikogruppen sind Alleinerziehende - jeder dritte Haushalt ist arm - und Zuwandererfamilien. Die Armutsquote bei Familien mit Kindern stieg allein zwischen 2003 und 2006 um knapp fünf Prozentpunkte und liegt bei 19,2 Prozent. Read more
